MultiChoice Zambia has congratulated six Zambian filmmakers and producers on their nomination for the 10th edition of Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCAs), scheduled to take place in Lagos Nigeria on11th May 2024.
Managing Director at MultiChoice Zambia, Mrs Leah Kooma wished all the Zambian nominees the best as they travel to Nigeria for the awards ceremony. “We congratulate you all on your nominations, your recognition is a testament to the impactful and exciting stories that you tell through your productions on Zambezi Magic, which strongly resonate with Africans across the Continent,” she remarked.
Mrs Kooma said this when she hosted some of the Zambian AMVCA nominees at a send off meeting held at MultiChoice Zambia head office.
Speaking at the same occasion, Mutale Mwanza, who bagged a nomination for her Mutale Mwanza Unscripted Season 1, hit reality show said: “Thank you MultiChoice for supporting Zambian creatives and sharing a platform for storytelling.” Mutale added, “A Win for one is a win for Zambia”.
Other shows nominated are Date My Family Zambia produced by Nancy Handabile. And Mercy Mukwiza who is part of Royal Clique, which is produced by Raydo, commended MultiChoice for creating opportunities for artists to earn a living even as they share their lives on TV. Meanwhile Henry BJ Phiri, also known as Limbani on the hit comedy show, Uncle Limbani, thanked the government and MultiChoice for creating an environment for the film industry to grow and flourish.
Present at the meeting, were producer Paul Wilo and MTF Alumnus Julius Museteka, who both expressed appreciation to MultiChoice for enriching their lives.
The awards will be held on the 11th of May 2024 at the exclusive Eko Hotel, Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria. Catch Highlights of the AMVCAs Live on All Magic Channels on DStv and GOtv with the Red Carpet starting at 17:00 hrs and the main Award Gala Night at 20:00hrs.
